Dialogue / Script

In my teaser trailer for "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" I do not plan to have any form of communication as I am only going to have one character. Therefore there is no dialogue and no script needed. Instead I would like some really intense suspense building music which I am going to find from non-copyright websites over the next week or so. There is no particular reason why I have decided not to have and dialogue other than the fact that there is only going to be one actor in my film teaser trailer.

Animatic Storyboard

Here is my animatic storyboard I created for my teaser trailer.

Intertitles Practice

In my lesson I spent the hour looking at Intertitles and putting them into a short clip on Adobe Premiere Elements. This has allowed me to see how long my trailer is going to be roughly. As at this stage I don’t have an animatic storyboard I just used a plain background between the Intertitles to show me how long it is going to be. It is working out at about 1 minute and 5 seconds which is a reasonable length for a teaser trailer. I am going to add my certificate rating into my trailer at the beginning so any minors can be warned before watching this. My last shot will include when it is going to be released in cinema and my production / distribution company I will use which is yet to be decided. I will do some more research on this at a later stage once I have begun my filming.

Storyboard

1. This is the shot of the newspaper showing the headline that is supposed to trigger suspense and anxiety in the audiences minds as they are watching to try and get them to come and watch the film. This will be a close up with a slow reverse zoom away from the paper. This will be on for about 10 secs.

2. This is th idyllic river scene which is supposed to be calm and peaceful. This is a long shot as the camera pans down stream. It will be about 8 secs.

3. This is either going to be a long shot or a medium shot of the camera zooming to the riverbank to see the angler fishing. This will be about 8 secs long.

4. This is a medium shot of the camera zooming in to the anglers face to catch their facial expressions and look of curiosity / anxiety. This will be about 5 secs long.

5. This is a close up of the anglers face this time showing horror and alarm. Again this will be about 5 secs.

6. This is an over the shoulder shot over the angler showing the river where he can see the red postal bag floating downstream. This shot will be about 8 secs.

7. This shot is a long shot / slow zoom that pans further up the river where a human body is floating down slowly. This shot will take about 12 secs as it is a slow zoom.

8. This shot is of a hand going through a letterbox posting a letter it will be about 6 secs long and is a close up shot.

9. This is the title "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" it is going to be in big bold colours and will be approximately 5 secs long.

10. This is the final shot which is of the release date and rating etc. This will be about 5 secs long as well.

I am going to create this into an animatic storyboard and I will upload this when I have completed it.

Film Title

Today I came up with the name for my film. I am going to call it “Signed, Sealed and Delivered” which incorporates the missing postmen aspect of my film. I think it is very appropriate for my film. I am going to put this on the front of an envelope where the address usually goes. I think I am going to just use a plain font and a bright colour and bold text to attract the viewers of my teaser trailers attention to the film title.

Final Idea

Okay so today i thought of my final idea for my media teaser trailer.

I have decided to start with the fact another postman has gone missing by having a close up shot of a newspaper headline. Then the shot will change to show and idyllic river setting with calm waters and birdsong in the background. Then the camera will pan round onto an angler fishing on the side of the river bank and we see him fishing. Next we see the angler from a different angle and they look very shocked and worried. The shot fades into the river again where we see a red bag floating downstream. This gets the audience thinking about if it the postman. After we see the bag the camera pans round onto another stretch of river where we see a floating dead body just slowly coming downstream. This is the body of the postman that has gone missing. The ext shot is of a hand putting a letter through a letterbox which at this point isn't linked to any of the previous shots however the idea is to create suspense and find out why a letter is being sent and who is it from and to etc. Finally the last two shots we see are of the film title "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" and then the release date / rating of the film in the last shot.

I am going to create some storyboards for this and I will upload these when I am done.
